Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
