Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season because of a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering again next season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set versus Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 victories this year and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
