Performer Rejects Anti-Vax Stance After Voicing Contentious Covid Feature

The "Taken" star has given his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the safety of immunizations and commends one-time cabinet secretary RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Disputed Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a well-known publication co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for allegations that the virus was caused by a bad strain of the influenza shot.

The publication's writing partner, the executive producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone media personality Alex Jones. The producer recently posted hailing Neeson's role in the project.

A Firm Rebuttal

Representatives for the actor have issued a response firmly refuting implications that he holds anti-vax sentiments.

"We all acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement explains. "He has never been, and is not, anti-vax. His extensive work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement noted that the star had no hand in the project's editorial content and that questions about its claims are best addressed to the creators.

Central Themes Featured in the Feature

As presented, the script spoken by Neeson features several provocative claims:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have called for "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
  • It declares that "science has become dangerously politicized."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The narration further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of pandemic shots, it references a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Context and Current Issues

It also references a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a correction by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.

Recently, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to change its long-held position that there is no link between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is also referenced in the film, even with a recent study from the global health body stating no connection has been found.

A Previous Position of Endorsement

Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The documentary finishes with Neeson's voice saying, "This isn't the finish of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
