Toronto Blue Jays Earn World Series Meeting Against the Dodgers
Springer contributed to the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.
Canada's MLB team reached their first championship series since 1993 by beating the Mariners in the final game seven of the American League Championship Series.
Trailing 3-1, Springer delivered a three-run homer in the seventh, guiding the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series win in the seven-game series. Next up are the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated Fall Classic.
"It's incredible for everyone here, our city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Astros team that won the 2017 title. "This is such an amazing experience."
The veteran has now hit 23 post-season home runs, ranking him third on the list behind Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I'd prefer in that moment other than Springer with his October magic," noted Schneider.
Seattle, who had led the early in the series, are still the one club that has never reached in a World Series.
Wilson said "certainly that it hurts" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but commended their performance throughout the year.
"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the wrong side of this game," he added.
The Blue Jays won the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will host the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
